About Kathryn Peno

​

Kathryn's earliest art experiences began at a young age under the guidance of her grandmother, where learning the basics of sketching and watercolor painting became a foundation from which her love for art making blossomed. From that point on, art became the focus in both Kathryn's personal life and academic studies. In 2003 Kathryn graduated with honors from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. She then worked for two years as the Art Director of Fishcreek Designs, LLC, in Elkins, WV, before returning to WVU to pursue her passion in painting. In May of 2010, Kathryn graduated from WVU, as Sumna Cumulate, with her Bachelor in Fine Arts Degree and Pre-K -12 Art Education Certification. 

 

Currently, Kathryn resides in Morgantown, WV, where she teaches art and continues to develop new body's of work. Her paintings have been featured in art events such as the annual Morgantown arts walk, local art shows and most recently the traveling exhibition, "Reflections" homage to Dunkards Creek.
